Project Financial Controller

The world rapidly needs to electrify to replace fossil fuels on a massive scale. The hard-to-abate sectors like shipping, aviation and heavy land transport cannot be electrified with battery power and require a different type of electrification: Electrofuel made from renewable electricity and biogenic CO2.
Our business model is designed for scale, and we have a solid pipeline of projects in development in the Nordic countries with the goal of reaching Final Investment Decision (FID) for reaching more than 10 projects by 2027. We have a strong group of investors, including Alfa Laval, Carbon Clean, Elyse Energy, HyCap, Siemens Energy, Topsoe and Uniper.
Liquid Wind is a fast-growing company, headquartered in Gothenburg, Sweden and with a presence in Denmark, Finland and the UK. We have approx. 60 employees and are looking for a person that enjoys developing and growing together with the company.
The location for this position is flexible (Sweden, Denmark, Finland). Some travel will be required within the role.
Responsibilities
As a Project Financial Controller, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the financial success of our projects. You will collaborate closely with project directors, the finance team, and other stakeholders to monitor project costs, analyse financial data, and provide valuable insights. Your attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to manage budgets will contribute to the overall success of our projects.
Your main tasks will be:
- Forecasting and budgeting, in close collaboration with the Strategic Contracting & Procurement team, the Technical team, and Project Directors
- Project accounting, including cost allocations, revenue calculations and billing
- Present and explain the project’s Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss statements to key stakeholders and potential investors
- Financial analysis and reporting, highlighting key findings, identifying risks and recommendations to manage them
- Develop new and improve existing processes and procedures
- Support other members of the Finance Team with ad hoc tasks when needed
You will be reporting to the Group Business Controller located in Gothenburg.

You should possess strong time management skills and feel comfortable with juggling multiple tasks and priorities. You are confident in building strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders through effective communication.
Qualifications:
- Higher education degree in Finance/Economics or related field
- Proven experience as a project controller or background in accounting, audit or controlling
- Strong Excel skills, with additional knowledge of Power BI and/or other data visualisation tools an advantage
- Outstanding analytical abilities coupled with an attention to detail
The company language is English, and preferably you understand and speak a Scandinavian language.
